Edicin 1000 mg & 500 mg lyophilizcd powder in vial for I. V infusion.
Qualitative and Quantitative composition:
Edicin 1000 mg: Each vial contains I gm vancomycin (in the form of Vancomycin hydrochloride 1.02 gm.)
Edicin 500 mg: Each vial contains 500 mg Vancomycin (equivalent to 512 .57 mg Vancomycin hydrochloride.)
Pharmaceutical Form: Lyophilizcd powder in vial for I.V infusion
Edicin 500 mg:
Before reconstitution: slightly pink sterile lyophilized powder for injection.
After reconstitution: clear slightly pink solution.
Edicin I000 mg:
Before reconstitution off Wlito to silghtly pink sterile lyophilized powder.
Agter reconstitution solution.
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS:
Intravenous admiqistration
Edicin is indicated ia all age group for the treatment of the following infections
- Complicated skin and soft tissue infections (cSSTI).
- Bone and joint infections
- Community acquned pneumonia (CAP)
- Hospital acquired pneumonia. including ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).
- Infective endocarditis.
Edicin is also indicated in all age groups for the perioperative antibacterial prophylaxis in patients
that are at high risk of developing bacterial endocarditis when undergoing major surgical
procedures.
